This Privacy Policy explains how OnVirtu, LLC ("OnVirtu," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses and discloses personal information when you visit onvirtu.com, contact us, place an order, participate in our equipment trial program, or otherwise interact with our products and services (together, the "Services").
OnVirtu is a business-to-business distributor of fleet and enterprise connectivity hardware. Most of the information we handle relates to individuals acting on behalf of a business customer, reseller or supplier.
If you are a U.S. state resident with privacy rights — including residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia and fourteen other states — please also read our U.S. State Privacy Rights Addendum (Part 2 of this document, published at onvirtu.com/privacy-addendum), which forms part of this Policy and describes the categories of information we handle, your rights, and how to exercise them.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us:
Name, job title and company name
Business and shipping addresses, and billing address
Email address and telephone number
Mobile number, if you sign up for text messages
Account username and password, where we provide account access
Payment card details, collected and processed by our payment providers (see Section 9)
Order details, quote requests, trial equipment requests, RMA and support correspondence
Any other information you choose to send us by email, contact form or telephone
Information we collect automatically when you use our website:
IP address, and the approximate city- or region-level location derived from it
Browser type, operating system, device type and screen size
Pages viewed, referring and exit pages, clickstream data, and the date and time of your visit
Search terms used on our site and error logs
Whether you opened our emails and which links you clicked
We do not collect precise geolocation from your device. We do not request or knowingly collect special categories of personal information such as government identifiers, health data, biometric or genetic data, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, political opinions, union membership, or criminal history. Please do not send us that information.
If you give us personal information about another person — for example a colleague's shipping details — you confirm you are permitted to do so and to allow us to use it as described here.
2. How we collect it
Directly from you, when you request a quote, place an order, register an account, sign up for updates, request trial equipment, attend an event, or contact us.
Automatically, through cookies, tags and analytics tools when you use our website (see Section 3).
From our service providers, including our text messaging provider, which passes us your mobile number and the content of messages you send us.
From third parties, including manufacturers, referral partners and resellers who introduce you to us, and publicly available business sources.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file stored on your device. We also use web beacons — small electronic files in our pages and emails, sometimes called clear GIFs or pixel tags — to count visitors, measure whether an email was opened, and check that our systems are working.
We use cookies in three ways:
Essential cookies, which are required for the site to work — for example to keep your session active and to remember your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics cookies, which help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager. You can read about how Google uses data when you use our site at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Advertising cookies, set by our advertising partners to measure campaigns and show you relevant ads on other sites. [CONFIRM: list the ad platforms actually in use — e.g. Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Meta Pixel — or delete this bullet if none are live]
Managing your choices
When you first visit our site, a banner asks for your choice about non-essential cookies. Non-essential cookies are not set until you accept them. You can change your choice at any time using the "Manage cookies" option available on our site.
You can also set your browser to refuse some or all cookies, or to alert you when a cookie is being set. If you refuse cookies, some parts of our site may not work properly.
4. How we use personal information
To provide our products and services — to prepare quotes, process and fulfill orders, ship products, administer trial equipment, handle returns, RMAs and warranty claims, and provide customer support.
To manage your account — to register you, authenticate you, and provide account-related notices.
To communicate with you — to answer your questions, and to send administrative messages such as order confirmations and changes to our terms and policies. You cannot opt out of administrative messages while you have an active order or account.
For marketing — to send you news about products, promotions and events, by email, text message or post, where you have consented or where we are otherwise permitted to do so.
To improve our business — to analyze how our site and services are used, to develop new products and services, to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns, and to produce aggregated reporting.
For security and fraud prevention — to protect our systems, detect and prevent fraud and misuse, and verify credit and payment information.
To comply with law — to meet our tax, accounting, export control, sanctions screening and other legal obligations, and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Aggregated and de-identified information — we may aggregate or de-identify personal information so that it no longer identifies you, and use it for any purpose. We will not attempt to re-identify it.
5. Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract — to process and fulfill your order, administer trial equipment, and provide support.
Legitimate interests — to secure our systems and intellectual property, prevent fraud and financial crime, assess credit risk, analyze and improve our services, and promote our business. We balance these against your rights and do not rely on this basis where your rights override our interests.
Consent — for non-essential cookies, marketing emails and text messages. You can withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and meet recordkeeping requirements.
6. How we disclose personal information
We disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
To service providers who work on our behalf under contract, including website hosting, IT and security, customer relationship management, email and text message delivery, analytics, payment processing, order fulfillment and shipping, accounting and auditing. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
To manufacturers and suppliers, where necessary to register a product, process a warranty claim or RMA, or arrange drop-shipment.
To advertising partners, where you have accepted advertising cookies, to measure and deliver advertising. See Section 7.
To our affiliates, for the purposes described in this Policy.
In a corporate transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, in which case personal information may be transferred as a business asset.
For legal reasons — to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests from public authorities and law enforcement, enforce our Terms and Conditions, and protect the rights, safety and property of OnVirtu, our customers and others.
With your consent, or at your direction.
We may disclose aggregated or de-identified information without restriction.
Exception for text messaging data. Nothing in this section applies to information collected through our text messaging program. SMS opt-in data and consent information will not be shared or sold to third parties for promotional or marketing purposes, with or without your consent. See Section 8.
7. Advertising, opt-out signals and "sale" or "sharing"
We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
We do use analytics and advertising technologies that may disclose identifiers and browsing activity to advertising partners. Under some state privacy laws this counts as a "sale" or "share" for cross-context behavioral advertising, or as "targeted advertising." We describe this plainly rather than claim otherwise.
Your options:
Decline advertising cookies in our cookie banner, or change your choice later using the "Manage cookies" option.
[CONFIRM — see the implementation note in Part 2] Use an opt-out preference signal such as the Global Privacy Control. Where you visit our site with GPC enabled, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser or device.
Email us as described in Section 19 with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information."
Use the industry opt-out tools offered by the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info).
Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is still no common standard for how sites should respond to it, and we do not currently respond to DNT signals. This is separate from opt-out preference signals such as GPC, which are addressed above.
8. Text messaging (SMS) program
If you opt in to OnVirtu Mobile Alerts, we and our text messaging provider collect your mobile number and the content of messages you exchange with us.
By opting in to receive SMS messages, you agree to receive recurring text messages from OnVirtu at the number you provided. Message frequency may vary.
Consent is not a condition of purchase.
Message and data rates may apply.
To stop receiving messages, reply STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE or QUIT to any message. For help, reply HELP or contact us using the details in Section 19.
The program is available in the United States only.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not share or sell SMS data
SMS opt-in data and consent information will not be shared or sold to third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
This applies regardless of any other provision of this Privacy Policy, and regardless of whether you have given consent elsewhere. Specifically:
We do not sell your mobile number, your opt-in record, or your text message content.
We do not share them with third parties for those parties' own marketing or advertising purposes.
We do not share them with third-party sponsors of sweepstakes, contests or similar promotions.
We do not use them for targeted advertising, and they are excluded from any "sale" or "sharing" described in Section 7.
The only party we disclose this information to is the messaging provider that delivers the messages on our behalf, which acts under contract and may use the information only to provide the messaging service to us. We may also disclose it where required by law.
9. Payments and stored payment authorization
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, not by us. When you pay, your card details are collected by that provider and handled under its own privacy policy. We receive only limited information such as the last four digits of the card, the card brand, the expiration date and the result of the transaction.
We accept all major credit and debit cards and ACH bank transfers. Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, not by us.
Our payment provider is Stripe, Inc., which processes both card and ACH payments on our behalf. When you pay, your card or bank account details are collected directly by Stripe and handled under its own privacy policy, which you can read at stripe.com/privacy.
We receive only limited information from Stripe, such as the card brand, the last four digits of the card or bank account, the expiration date, the billing name and address, and the result of the transaction. We do not store full payment card numbers or full bank account and routing numbers.

10. Security
We use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect personal information within our organization, and we require our payment providers to meet applicable payment industry security standards.
No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us. Where you have a password for our site, you are responsible for keeping it confidential; please do not share it. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, contact us immediately using the details in Section 19.
11. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, and then for as long as required by our legal, tax, accounting and recordkeeping obligations. Specific retention periods are set out in Section 4 of our U.S. State Privacy Rights Addendum.
Where longer retention is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to comply with a legal hold, we keep the information for that longer period. Information may persist for a limited time in backup and disaster recovery systems after deletion from our active systems.
12. Your choices
Marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us. Please allow up to ten days for the change to take effect. We may still send administrative messages you cannot opt out of.
Text messages. Reply STOP to any message (see Section 8).
Postal mail. Contact us using the details in Section 19.
Cookies and advertising. See Sections 3 and 7.
Correcting your information. Contact us and we will update it, subject to our verification process.
Withdrawing consent. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us. This does not affect processing already carried out, or processing we carry out on another legal basis.
13. Your privacy rights
U.S. state residents. Please see our U.S. State Privacy Rights Addendum for a full description of your rights, the categories of information we handle, how to submit and verify a request, our response times, and how to appeal a decision.
EEA and UK residents. Subject to the conditions in applicable data protection law, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests or for direct marketing. You may also withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 19. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, and we would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
14. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and personal information we collect is stored and processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may not provide the same level of data protection as your own.
Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism under applicable law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. You can request a copy of the safeguards we use by contacting us using the details in Section 19.
15. Children
Our Services are intended for business use and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you are under 16, please do not register, order, or send us information about yourself. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16 without verified parental consent, we will delete it. If you believe we hold information about a child, contact us at contact@onvirtu.com or through onvirtu.com/contact.
We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16.
16. Automated decision-making
We do not use personal information in fully automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you. Some of our service providers use machine learning to improve their services — for example to order search results or flag suspected fraud. Where they do, either a person remains involved in any consequential decision, or the processing does not produce legal or similarly significant effects.
17. Third-party sites and services
Our site may link to sites and services we do not control. This Policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit. Including a link does not mean we endorse the site.
Likewise, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of platforms on which we maintain a presence, such as LinkedIn, or of the operating system, device and network providers you use to reach us.
18. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on our website and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Changes take effect when we post the revised Policy. Please keep your contact details with us current, and review this page periodically.
